Back at Baltic sea

I took a short trip to Svetlogorsk, my beloved place at Baltic see. 5 days of bliss and happiness. There is something really special about this tiny village. Somehow the sunsets here are always stunning, the see is always dynamic and restless, the air smells of salty pines.
I took a couple quick pics while walking the amber beach. I know I need to change the camera. But even such bad pics can give you an idea of Svelogorsk fantastics views.

This needs to be explained a bit. Marie is one of the greatest human beings I have ever met. Kind, beautiful, funny, supportive, adorable Marie. Yesterday she left to Hungary for a language course till late November. Marie, you are awfully missed here!

* I took a train ride to Marie´s house near Nizhny Novgorod in January. It was one of the happiest moments in my entire life. A real vocation! This Marie with her peach colored cat Timosha.

* On that winter vocation we started playing Scruble with Marie. Now we do it on regular basis along with cups of hot chocolate.

* Once we went to Krizis Zhanra to have a dinner. While waiting for order we couldnt help trying my new deep blue Uslu Airlanes nail polish. Its kinda addiction. It went out a bit horror pic through =)

* Fancy, dressy, sleepy head. I woke her up with Costa coffee cup. Yes, Marie always have Vogue issue with her, even in bed.

* She is waiting for the dinner to be ready. She loves our food!

* And she loves Ragout gourmet cafe. We had a wonderful branch there.

* A “911″ breakfast at “Bulka”. Are you sure you aint gonna have one more cinnamon cookie, Valick?

Its been a while I wasnt posting anything. Lots of things happened. Tonight I was looking through the tons of pictures left after all those things and happenings.
I will cheat – I will post the pics under so-called topics. And I will start with FOOD. And it is a strawberry yogurt pie at the front picture. These pies are baked and served in “Bulka”.

* That was a lovely breakfast we had once in Krizis Zhanra.

* Salmon. Just lots of salmon as I love it.

* A spinach pie.

* Marie´s “911″ breakfast at beloved “Bulka” confectioner shop. Marie saved me from sadness that morning.

* A carrot pie.

* Butter cookies.

* Red beet soup with prune.

StPete

The past weekend me and Lesha L. spent in StPete. We left Moscow cause of the dangerous smog you might heard of. Moscow looked like “Blade runner” movie scenery when we took the train Friday night.
StPete welcomed us with less heat, only +35C, and some fresh air. It lasted for a day, a beautiful day, then the smog came to Northern Palmira City on Sunday and forced us to go back home. Its miserable to run around the places hiding from such a silly substance like smog. Seems like people had done something really terrible to Earth that made it behave this killing way.
Visiting a flee market in Etazhi Loft space was nice. I got a fancy red leather bag looking like one from CK but much cheaper. I loved an old house aside the market. I didnt think we have such things in Russia at all. Felt like in CHP.

A year starts on the last weekend of July.
After more one Picnic Afisha festival, when all the bands left home, you slept enough and realized all the mistakes and gave yourself a promise not to fuck it all up again next time – thats when a new year starts. Not on a holly winter night. Oh no…
But now Im just and the beginning of the end. Tomorrow is the festival. Today was the set up. Went well. A couple of pictures that I managed to take. Working with Editors this year. Whats it gonna be like I wonder. So far I shook their hands at the airport and left to work with tech crew. Extremely nice people! I mean tech crew…
Tour management is unspeakably pleasant to me. Im glad to be back to it for one weekend.
Off to bed, see you all tomorrow at Picnic.

In a store around the corner

If you have a taste in food – go to “Azbuka vkusa”. If you have a taste in music – go the same store.
I have been always wondering about “Azbuka vkusa” stores in Moscow. I dont do much shopping there but when it happens to me its always kinda surprise. I catch myself on enjoying just wandering inside, looking at all those strange flashing labels, cans, bottles, incredible fruits with hard-to-pronounce names and listening to the music. Yes, those guys put great records on the store airplay. Quite rarely interrupted by welcome greetings and commercials the in store radio gives the visitors the best indie cast. My past weekend shopping was followed with the beautiful sounds of Icelandic Kira Kira “Bless”, English breakfast teaM of Editors “Munich”, Norah Jones “Sunrise”, yeasayer “ONE”, Robert Glasper’s jams and many many more brilliant tracks. And it again felt like they have been just imported from my iPod.
And yes, they have a music/video in store booth there, too. Thats were I did my shopping. A 12´´vinyl of Kings of Convenience “Riot on an empty street”, a vinyl in a grocery. God, we even dont have it EMI catalogue available for ordering! I got it for 25 EU.

Alright, enjoying “Cayman Island” from “Riot on an empty street”. Its good to cool these hot days down.

Nite time

Yes, you can live only at night time now in Moscow. Weather hits century records.
Last night I had a thing to do. It all started with a quite a weird phone call, a girl saying like “You might remember me…” I didnt.
Do I draw? How´s that she knows about it? Knows that sometimes, like once in a month, I take color pencils and draw some stuff. She somehow knew that and asked for a few drawings to do for Carte Noire. There is a story behind the whole thing, its about a famous Russian designer Alena Akhmadullina taking a trip to Paris, having a great time, drinking Carte Noire coffee, getting inspired by all that Paris love theme and making a new design a-la Carte Noire.
Thanx to Olga, a girl to remember, I had a wonderful night time, done 5 pieces in ink and aquarelle, went to bed at 8 in the morning just minutes before the sun started burning down the town.
